Shore Power Fault Diagnosis in Fort Lauderdale

Problem
The marina pedestal breaker tripped every time the boat plugged in, and the dockmaster flagged the vessel after reports of stray current near the slip. The boat faced disconnection from shore power.
Solution
We replaced the inlet and cord, corrected the AC grounding to ABYC standards, installed a new galvanic isolator and added ELCI protection at the inlet.
Outcome
The boat passed the marina’s electrical inspection, the stray-current readings disappeared, and the owner kept the slip — with a safer boat than before the fault.

Yes — much of our Broward work comes through captains and management companies. We provide written findings and photos so you can report back to owners without a second visit.

How fast can you respond in Fort Lauderdale?

Typically same or next day. For dead-boat or safety situations — like a suspected stray-current fault — tell us when you call and we’ll prioritise the visit.

Can you service boats on the New River or in working yards?

Yes. We’re familiar with the access and scheduling requirements at Lauderdale Marine Center and the other New River yards, and we work alongside other trades during refits.
